2.2 Exhaust question
Sunday, February 15, 2009 4:09 PM
Hello, I know this a dumb question, but is the stock exhaust welded to the cat or bolted/clamped? I would just go and look but I currently don't have my cavalier nearby. Thanks!!

if it's all stock and has'nt been touched, it should have a flange with 3 bolts attaching it to the cat.

I had a feeling it was bolted. But I'll better know by tomorrow night when I have access to ALLDATA while I'm at school.

The following is the Service and Repair information from ALLDATA for the Catalytic Convertor. The link may or may not work, I'm sorry in advanced if it doesn't.

The front exhaust pipe is serviced only as part of the oxidation catalytic converter. When this pipe requires replacement, the pipe and converter must be replaced as a unit.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
