Transmission issues

Alright, so, my transmission seems to be acting funny....

1) basically when i go to push it into third when trying to shift with any kind of speed... it grinds EVERY time
2) occasionally, and it seems totally random (ive eliminated almost every variable), 4th gear will totally lock out. on the way to school today i couldnt get into 4th at all, up or down, i had to go from 3rd to fifth and vice versa. On the way back.. it was like nothing was ever wrong.

I know its not my clutch, as i JUST installed a new spec clutch, like 2 weeks ago. whats wrong

i wouldn't discount the clutch, spec clutches are garbage. could also be the synchros.

alright, so, i dont have any friends capable of a rebuild, and all trans demands 1700 bucks... which i dont have... are there any good places to get a used tranny? or does anyone near vancouver BC have one lying around? anywhere in washington works too to be honest :/

what if the used tranny is bad too?

To get it done right, get a loan and get your car fixed correctly. that's my advice.
You can't beat the warranty on parts and labor.

That's why I don't let no one touch my car unless I'm playing them to do it and they know what they're doing.

o no the guy who'd be doing it was a professional mechanic for 20 years, he just stopped because he @!#$ his back up and cant do it full time anymore. altho you are right, having some kind of warranty is golden, and im definately considering forking the cash over for a rebuild.... which is better than getting a used one correct?
