why does my interior rattle and shake?

ok, '02 4-door Z my driver side doors rattle, my dash shakes up n down a bit when i hit bumps.... why? and how can this crap get fixed. i took my 97 Z to the shop and they told me $300 just to look at it. it is like the whole dash bounces up and down, including my glove box. PLEASE HELP ME!

because you own a cavalier....

but a real answer. pull the top dash piece off and make sure it has screws in it. (you would be surprised) also is the top part cracked?

I used to live down a dirt-road, it literally destroyed the dash and I ended up replacing the whole unit. It was cracked in multiple spots and weakened as a whole.

i lived on a back road for years. the screws on mine literally just came out.

On mine, I took out the things that rattled, like the A-pillar trim, and dash, put a few pieces of foam tape underneath.

No more interior rattle. All I have now is clunks from bad srtut mounts...

You beat me to it, but yes thats the answer. We all own cheap cookie cutter cars and we all now how GM interior is lacking on almost all of their cars.

with mine, i had 384,991 miles on a 1995 contour. had a 4 cyl and a 5spd...loved that car. it didnt make a peep.
