Trying to change the tranny fluid on my manual '01 Cavalier
Looked all over underneath the car, cant find the drain plug
Is there a drain plug for manual tranny? Where is it?
Thanks
their isnt a tranny drain plug on our cars, U need to drop the bottom transmission pan prefferably undo the back four bolts, Allow the the fluid, to drain into bucket, Then after half it drains, then undo all the other bolts allow the other fluid to be poured into the bucket youre set. For filling producer, on top of the transmission you will see red filler cap thats where u refill the new transmission fluid. Near the back of the transmission there you will see plug looking small bolt head, u need to undo remove that small bolt that is called youre observation spout, It allows u to know youre transmission fluid is full, Once it pours out and stop draining youre tranny is full of fluid.
Good Luck.
On a 2001 manual trans it is at the bottom below the drivers axle.

My car was made with wrenches, Not chopsticks.
Mine is a 2.2 ohv 5spd also
Can anyone post a pic showing where that plug is. I looked under the driver side, saw a few bolts, dont know which one is it.
What size bolt is it? Is it facing the driver side wheel?
Thanks
I found two recessed Hex bolts on the tranny, one faces the drivers front wheel, the other faces the firewall.
I labeled them as shown. Did I get them right?
