Warm starting problem
Saturday, March 07, 2009 3:22 PM
Hey there I have an '02 Sunfire 2200 5 speed and I have a starting problem that's come up: After a highway run or whenever the engine's been up to temperature for at least 30 mins when I go to start it up again after sitting for 5 - 10 mins it takes a lot of cranking and there's a strong fuel smell. Also my mileage has gone down significantly... any ideas?

I have a similar problem but I know for sure that it is an injector leaking internally. If I floor the gas pedal, it clears the flood and starts right up. This problem started after replacing an externally leaking injector with an AutoZone injector. I've replaced the o-rings and the problem persists, so eventually I will get a Delphi injector.
