Ok. My car was running great this morning, no complaints. Around noon, after about an hour of driving, I was getting a bit of a rough idle. Rev once or twice, back to normal. Weird, but nothing to worry about I thought. Got in my car after work, around 9:30 and I hear a knock around 3 r's, sounds like a lifter. I pull over, pop the hood and there's a knock from about 3-4r's that is loud as hell and definitely in the top of the engine. Sounds like nuts and bolts under the valve cover. Drive home incredibly slow making alot less power than I should be. About 1/2 mile from my house my oil light comes on. Pull in my drive and put 2 quarts in. Engine barely turns over, starts, and the knock is still present. Runs for about a minute without the oil light coming on so I assume I still have pressure. Knock turns worse, I turn the car off. This is my daily driver guys. Is there any way this could be just a lifter? Rod bearing?
There's a thin line to be crossed, when the upgrades to your vehicle increase your chance to get tickets by an amount exponential enough to stop worrying and build the fastest, loudest car you can.
