I recently had some spotting of coolant on the ground and I'm considering it's a bad water pump. It is a 96 but only has 78k on it. How hard is the water pump? Any tricks/ things to remember? Is one from auto zone ok ?Thank you!
I probally shouldnt have, but I bought one from autozone about 15k miles ago and it's working fine so far... Although you might not have to, I took my alternator off for a little more clearence/room. After that, 4 bolts and a gasket. That's it.
Did I mention I drive a 2000 Lumina now?-----wigm-tuners.org member
yeah, its pretty easy job. the pita part is bleeding the system though. just becareful because i replaced my water pump thinking it was bad because it looked like coolant was coming out of the weep hole, but turned out i had a leaking headgasket so i replaced that right after myself.
easy job on this motor...just like chaning your alternator....gasket some bolts and you good to go
