Couple problems with this one looking for a little help in the right direction.
1. I have no interior lights, at all, ever. They used to work once in a while when you opened the doors or if you flipped the switch a few times but lately nothing.
2. Car Hard starts and Runs Rough- when you turn the key you have to let it crank over a few times before it catches, as soon as the car starts the dash lights up with: Seat Belt light, Air Bag light and Check Engine light but usually will keep running at a rough idle.
3. When you shift out of park the ABS light, Brake light, Theft Sytem light and Security light come on, the DRL light also flashes no matter if the lights are on or not.
All of the warning lights I have listed stay on or remain flashing
Have recently replaced plugs, wires, and had the timing chain done over the summer. The shotty alarm system was acting up so I removed that about a month ago, at the same time I noticed the ground from batt to trans was looking bad so i replaced that with a generic from the parts store that does not ground on the batt tray, could that be a problem?
Thanks in advance!
Also should add that it will sometimes die at a traffic light if you dont give her a lil gas to keep it going and acceleration seems rough
on another note, while sitting at the light or parked occasionally the tach and fuel level gauges will surge, usually they just drop like theyre dead and pop back up a few times
TTT still need help here guys.
also an update, replaced the positive and negative battery cables with new, starts a whole lot easier but still idles/runs for crap.
HELP ME PLEASE BEFORE I DRIVE IT INTO THE RIVER
looks to me that you have more importan issues than the interior lights to deal with, I could not tell you if they may be related, or at least some of them, have you thought about retreaving the codes? I am not an expert but it may be a module acting up, like the ecm, not sure if the cavs have a bcm, worth looking into it, pull the codes, throw a timing light on it, check the fuel presure, will go from there, also keep in mind filters need changed once in a while, ( fuel, air), get the engine running good first we'll wory about the rest later
I did a full tune up this past summer with plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, the timing chain snapped so I had that replaced. I thought a computer issue of some sort or a short somewhere. Im better with a wrench than a test meter so Im lost on this electric sh!t
