Feels like I am posting something new for this car in maintenance everyday! But I want this car to be right.
Lately, when I'm turning past 1 turn, it has clicked in the driver side wheel area/hub it made like 3 clicks from one turn and back to normal. Now the sound has changed to a squeak/chirp like a bird every time I turn the wheel anyway. It's highly annoying and makes the car sound like a pile.
Possibly thinking, bearing? or bushings? Tie rod? Those are my guesses.
Thanks for any help.
If it clicks, it could be a CV joint going bad. Could also be a wheel bearing if it squeaks/growls when turning as there is more pressure applied to it.
Good luck!
Did I mention I drive a 2000 Lumina now?-----wigm-tuners.org member
hmm. I noticed it shudders good at about 70mph lately. And the squeak is only noticeable on speeds under probably 5mph or parked.
I know the car has some pretty bad wheel hop when you get into it, so that probably killed a bearing right?
Mine did the shaking routine when the wheel bearing was going bad, so I would say that would be the first place to start.
You just wouldn't think a car with 51,000 miles on it would do this type of things
I'm thinking it's the CV joint now. From reading it looks like it is cheaper/better to replace the entire axle right?
Does this sound like the right fix for the problem?
andy, i replaced the drivers side axle last year. it is having problems already? i never noticed anything......the only issues i ever had was with the suspension, and i thought it was good and ready to go now.
i truly am sorry for the problems that are happening,
Well if it has been replaced already... I'm not sure if that would be it again.
It's alright todd, i'll get it back and going good.
I noticed it has a vibration in the front end when turning the wheel left, so I'm pretty sure it's going to be the CV joint?
