Followed the Haynes manual up to this point.
It says to remove the axel from the transmission to use a crowbar and pry the axel from the housing.
But the picture doesn't do jack as to where your supposed to pry it out.

around the big bulky part, jsut make sure not to damage the seals. Advance auto should have a tool you can rent thats safer at pulling them out.
The basics is to pop it straight off the output shaft

its alittle frustration just get a flat head screwdriver and pry alittle and wiggle the axle till it pops out. some are harder then others
I use the round end of a 19mm wrench, Slide it between the Tranny casing and the "Cup" at the base of the CV axle. Then jam it between the two and give it a good kick... works every time...
