When i shift into 3rd i hear a clunking noise for a split second
im going to guess that is not a noise i want
can someone explain to me why? and how to fix?
your second to third synchro could be bad
Bad synchro will cause you to grind gears if you shift to fast, I'm leaning more towards a bad tranny or engine mount.
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
your prolly right. im bad when it comes to trannys but that was the first thing that was coming to mind
i figured out what it is...its a bad synchro. when i double clutch from 2nd to 3rd it shifts fine.
so how do i go about changing the synchro?
i got same problem.. from 2nd to 3rd. :/ is it expensive?

There are tons of threads on this in the "Transmission" forum. Probably cheaper/easier to change the trans.

duh satupid me never thought of looking in transmission forum. well i figured out that my synchros went ape$hit and now i gotta drop a used tranny for $950
