My driver's side headlight in my '99 Z24 stopped working recently. I replaced the bulb, and that didn't help. So I figured it was the headlight switch since I've already had to replace the switch 3 or 4 times in the 7 years I've had the car.
What else could be the problem since it's not either of these things? Now that I think of it, right after the headlight quit working, when I shut the hood one time, the headlight turned on & then went back out again. Could this be a problem with a ground or something? If so, where should I check? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
97 is still positive trigger I think. So check the ground wire down by your battery tray for corrosion.
Thanks for the fast reply! Hmmm....I noticed recently that my battery tray was starting to get a good bit of corrosion on it. I looked at that ground wire, and it looks like it is attached to the tray instead of being bolted/screwed on. Is that ground wire something easy to remove/replace? Or do you think the tray needs to be replaced? If so, how is that removed?
Thanks again for the info! I have a feeling now that it might either be the ground at the battery tray or a broken wire in that cluster down by the washer fluid reservoir. Hopefully, I can take a look at it tomorrow.
