I seem to be randomly throwing the above codes.... doesnt seem to be anything directly correlated to when the codes come out....
but they suppoedly are
P0621 Generator Lamp "L" Control Circuit Malfunction
P0622 Generator Field "F" Control Circuit Malfunction
P0130 02 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank I Sensor 1)
i read somewhere that p0621 could be caused by a short in the "horn" circuit... Well... ironically i did somehow manage to fill my horn with sand and water... I even bought a new one but have yet to install it... So that MIGHT be the P0621 code....
but i also seem to get the P0622 code at about the same time i get the P0621... i can find very little about the P0622 code anywhere... The one thing i did find is a post on a forum about a guy with a cavalier who was throwing a P0172 (fuel trim rich) and a P0622... and was unable to start the car. but no replies addressed the 622, they just talked about what to check to see why it wont start... BUT.... interestingly... I just today learned that my fuel pump MAY be going bad.... My car will randomly decide to not start at all... like it is getting no fuel... but you can hear the pump.... and then a while later it will start right up and run fine for weeks... So... i wonder if maybe this 622 is in relation to the fuel pump? Could that be shorting out? or just a dying motor drawing more juice than the computer sees as healthy? or could this be just the drain on the battery from all the starting attemptts due to my possible fuel issue? (it will often take a full chanrge on my battery, and then a jump before i can get the car running again when it gets in this funk)
the P0130 is nothing major... probably my own fault... this only shows up now and then... no where near as common as the 621 and 622... just threw it out there as well in case that maybe is a useful clue to diagnosing the other 2.
622 comes up the most... sometimes alone... sometimes along with 621... i dont think i ever got 621 without 622... and once in a while i will get 130 along with the other 2... but again never alone... nor with just 621... it is always 622.. or 622 and one or both of the others....
I have disconnected the old horn... so hopefully we will not see any more of the 621.. if my theory is correct... but 622 confuses me....
oh... also... just to add....
I read alot of sites saying that both of these codes could be a bad battery or alternator.... Well the battery is about 2 weeks old... and the alternator is about a year old.... So i am assuming that isnt the issue.... but the drain on the charging system from all the cranking it needs to start sometimes.... that could definately put extra stress on the battery or alternator... So i think the fuel pump is a player in all this... but i dont know if it is the cause or just a side effect... (maybe the fuel pump is fine, but car isnt making enough power to run it well... or maybe the fuel pump is sucking all the power and causing the charging issues...)
So what do you all think?
i am going to look into installing a fuel pressure gauge, so i can see what my fuel pump is doing... i hear that the noise alone of it spinning doesnt mean it is working...
For sure youre P0130 02 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank I Sensor 1 is toast, Needs replacing, I would recommend geting a multi meter test on youre charging system, Could have a weak battery, May not be fully charged. Wouldnt hurt getting a fuel pressure test done as well.
GoodLuck.
Get your charging system checked at Sears or the like, they can tell you if something is wrong with the battery or alt. You have to clear the codes to make them go away.
dude. enough dead threads.....
