Heres the deal, I am getting ready to replace this stock motor mount on 00 cavalier, 2.2 ohv, I just ordered, this friend he wants this one replaced, With the stock one. I got the mount out of the metal bracket shown on the bottom of the screen, Just curious is the new mount has bolts for the bottom instead of riviots? Plus the reason why this stock mount is beening replaced, The other mechanic that installed there new engine stripped the 2 bolts threads in the mount, In which caused the mount to get split,
thanks in advanced for youre opinons.

I believe it would be just easier to undo the 3 15 mm bolts and place that whole mount in there. i've changed the entire thing before and you need put a jack on the bottom mount tow hook to hold the engine up.
The stock mount was riveted in. The pics you posted look like the stock mount with the rivets drilled out. It is not reusable. Buy a new mount and it will include the bolts. I suggest using some thread lock when installing the bolts. I had the bolts manage to work their way out and had to warrenty the mount.

Yes I plan on replacing the whole motor rubber mount, I was just curious if the rivets are replaced with bolts. Its looks to be a pretty straight forward install. Thanks youre guys help.
Yes. They are replaced with bolts. I strongly suggest using some thread locker.

Just lil update, The install went really easy, What a pita getting the new mount into the steel bracket, My mini slegg hammer work like a charm, I guess the rubber was over molded onto the bottom edges. Yes thread lock was a awsome idea. Everything put back together work like a charm.
thanks again guys
I need to replace this mount as well, but I am not sure what color thread lock I need. Is the blue stuff strong enough?
Jim
Yes the blue stuff is what I used, Just make sure you apply very small amount, You dont need alot. a few dabs on each bolts threads that that go into the rubber mount. Thats it.
Good Luck
Rich,
Thanks for the info.
