Our 1992 Cavalier RS belches black smoke when hot, black smoke = running rich or lean?

Belches black smoke when the engine warms up? Oil in the cylinders?Pull your plugs on ALL cylinders and look at them and let us know what they look like or take pics if you can and remember what plug was in what cylinder.Spark plugs can tell you a LOT about how an engine is running. They can tell you if it's rich or lean or if there is oil in there or many other problems.

But black smoke is generally a rich condition.... oil burning would be more of a blue smoke.

We replaced a new O2 sensor so hopefully that will take care of the smoke.
