my ets light came on today, i dont know what that is, i bought the car yestrday its a 97' cavalier z24 witht the 2.4L, i want to fix the car up nicely but i got to fix the problems first, waht does ETS mean? electronic traction stabilty? i used to work at a ford dealership and i have never seen this light plz help

my gf had this light come on on her sunfire as well, anyone know what it is?

That is the "Enhanced Traction System" warning light. According to my owners manual, the light will come on if the parking brake is on and the engine is running. (So make sure the brake is all the way off.) It also says it comes on if the gear selector is in "1" or "2", as the traction control system is turned off. It also comes on normally if the system is activated (by wheelspin) and is working. (It should go off a few seconds after traction is regained. Lastly, it comes on briefly when the engine is started as a bulb check.

it will also come on along with your check engine light and abs light if your wheel speed sensor is out
