I have 2 j-body's that have experianced the same issue...
one is a 02 Cavalier LS Sport and one is a 01 Sunfire GT. This has happened twice on the GT and about 5-6 times on the LS Sport.... after a fill up the gas gauge goes wonky then the Check Gauges Light comes on... the fuel gauge goes to roughly half filled...then moves up slowly and slowly till it gets back to filled then the light goes off..... is this the beginning of a bigger problem?
Sounds like a problem with the fuel sender.
