trying to figure out how to bypass my a/c low pressure switch. I thought they were all a 2 wire system but mine apparently is a 3 wire.want to force my compressor to turn on but dont know how. Help
Thanks!
dont know what it is. I was reading and from what i gathered its usually best to start with refillin but I cannot get my compressor to turn on. Ive read a bunch of posts saying to "jumper" this to see if its just low pressure. however wen to do this and i see 3 wires and unsure which to jumper, maybe .3v on 1 wire bud nothing on the others.
The easy way (shade tree mechanic) to do this, although not really great for the compressor, is to turn the a/c on and while filling on the low side port, turn the can upside down. This will "slug" the compressor with liquid r134a and in a short time the compressor will cycle on. It will turn on / off until you have sufficient r134a. You'll hear and see the clutch engaging / disengaging.
Make sure the stuff you're using has PAG oil in it. Most of the do-it-yourself cans do have it.

Take it to a garage and have a certified mechanic recharge the system. If you follow dumbass's^^^ advice you will destroy your A/C compressor and spend ALOT more in repairs.

The guy came to an automotive forum for some home garage advice because he wants some cold air and your only input is to take it to a mechanic. You're a retard and probably a 17 year old kid with a POS cavalier that your mom lets you drive. You're gonna say you're a mechanic who's been wrenching since you were 5. But if that was true, you would have given some advice about buying some gauges, feeding it to the high side and using a UV light or sniffer to find the leak.
What kind of self respecting man would pick a screen name like "Tinkles?" Answer: not a man.....a kid
