Hey guys
July 08 I redid my rear brakes (new shoes, spring kit, drums). I also took apart the self adjuster and cleaned/lubed it.
For some reason now (almost 1 year later) my rear passenger side brake locks up when I am pulling out of the garage as soon as I hit the brakes. After I use them at speed it is fine. As soon as I go to leave work, it will do it again the first 2-3 times I use the brake.
Any idea? I was thinking wheel cylinder but I have never seen a wheel cylinder cause this.

I used to have this problem, it was a combination of crappy pads, and a bad cylinder. Also your adjuster might have worked its way out too far. Take the drum off and reset the adjuster so the pads just barely rub against the drums.
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
my cylinders did this wen they were bad, also i left it got too long, and it warped the drums.

Did you put the bottom spring over the adjuster on the right way? If the spring is sitting on the adjusting wheel it will not be able to adjust.I have seen this on other people cars that have put that lower spring on wrong.
I had this problem for the last couple months myself. Was tired of every week having to adjust the rears and I needed new pads and rotors on front so I dropped my car of at a garage and told them to put the new pads and rotors on and adjust my back brakes. Well I found out there was a spring let go on the adjustment part and that was why the car was locking up first thing in the morning or when the car sat for awhile.

Update - I put new wheel cylinders in both sides. Had to put in new brake lines on both sides too. I also destroyed a wheel bearing getting it off so had to go to the junk yard and get one of those.
Problem is gone. Now I am doing front brakes because I have stuck sliders
