well it appears that the GMPP that i bought was a complete waste of time and money, i have an 03 cav with an AEM CAI and a full 3" exhaust and the odo just turned 55k. the car was in storage for about 8 months and now any time i get it above 3.5k RPM or 50-75% throttle it blows thick blue/white smoke, and it feels like it has a loss of power. i did a compression check and it read as follows:
cyl 1: 125
cyl 2: 140
cyl 3: 127
cyl 4: 125
this leads me to believe that the rings are shot, also when i pulled the plugs, they all had seemingly fresh oil on them, the stealership said that the 2.2 ecotec can burn up to 1 quart of oil every 2k miles and still be in range and that the cyl compression is still in range because the highest and lowest cylinders are within 75% of each other. anyone have any suggestions or input that might help???

forgot to add, i have changed the oil every 3k miles like clockwork and have always used Mobil 1 full synthetic.

That's extremely low on all 4 cylinders... especially for a car with 55k
I peak out at 180 psi after 4 cranks. with 65k boosted for 10k
For all 4 rings to be that worn something crazy musta been going on.
Try a leak down test. I might put my money on head gasket?
If the leak down test passes, I would point to the super charger....
Major longshot, but is there any chance the oil was overfilled? As per one of my less intelligent moments, I found out that might cause blow-by at high revs.

i thought they were way low, but according to gm, it doesn't matter what the #s are as long as the lowest and highest are within 75% of each other. and another interesting tid bit from GM is that the ecotec with a manual transmission which has been driven "aggressively" can burn up to 1 qt of oil every 500 miles and still be in an acceptable range. (yes 500, not 5000, thats not a typo) i doubt the oil was over filled, the car has always taken 5 qts. and came up perfect. and im not F/I yet, so that eliminates some of the potential problems.
i picked the car up from the 2nd dealer that refused to help me and showed him that it was blowing smoke when i reved it, but it was just running rich and blowin the fuel out the back, so i think the pacesetter cat that i put on must be shot. at WOT the car stays right around 12.3-12.8 AFR on an AEM UEGO wideband.
the only time it ever blows smoke from oil is when the engine is under load above 3k rpm.
the car did sit for about 8-10 without being started, so i think the rings might be seized to the pistons, if it was a head gasket, it would be a constant flow of white sweet smelling smoke and alot of water out the exhaust.
in conclusion im not sure if the compression test was accurate because the gauge i was using had a swivel connection between the hose and the adapter so i really couldn't get it tight and be sure that i got a good seal.
and one other thing that i noticed when i did the compression test was that there was seemingly fresh oil on the plugs but they werent fowled or anything.........hhhhmmmmm the mystery continues...

Hi,
Intake valve stem seals are old and dry.
May not be it but a high possibility, easy and cheap to replace (as compared to a ring job)
Under hard acceleration you are sucking in a LOT of air and it will draw it from any crevice it can get it from sucking it down the valve stem from the head is a very good source for it.

Check the obvious little things first. Spark plugs, Boots, ICM. Then redo a good compression test.
If it was fine before storage, it is something electrical. Blue/white smoke can occur when you have a cylinder not firing/running.
It's a problem that is related to the load on the engine.

it was starting to burn oil before storage, only about 1qt per oil change, but it never smoked like this, the plugs are good and so are the bots, all looks brand new, ill check the valve guide seals and re-run a comp test using better a gauge.
