Just a question...
Saturday, June 06, 2009 11:57 PM
Hey there...Since I havent owned a cavalier that did this before, I was just curious if anyone else's does this:

When i turn on the defroster (all the way to the right on the selector knob) the A/C light comes on. And when i put the clutch in, it seems like its vibrating/grinding feeling under my foot. This is when im stopped, and put the clutch in to put it in gear before i take off again...The car also seems to have no power when the A/C is on. I dont bother with the A/C as I just roll down the windows and open the sunroof, but Was just curious if anyone else has this happen, or if its just a normality, or what...

Mainly curious about the a/c light and the vibrations with the clutch lol

Thanks in advance

my dodge caravan does this... its to help defrost the windows i believe by taking some of the moisture out of the air... I think even my sunfire does this also. but i can't be sure, because i don't ussually have to use defrost because of the wonders of garage parking

yeah on most cars the windshield vent turns on the AC... Our impala, the z24, the accord, the Suburban, the saturn... they all do it. On some cars it can be turned off by pushing the button but if i remember right the AC cant be turned off on that setting.
