i just replaced the head gasket on my 03 cavy. I drove it for about a week. No leaks or signs of any issues until friday night when my low coolant light came on. i went outside the car and notice collant leaking. I drove it home and checked it out the next day. Turns out it is leaking from a little opening at the water pump (weep hole?) Its not leaking from a gasket or anything like that? I took off the termostat housing and the pipe that runs to the water pump. i also removed the cover on the water pump. next would be to remove the water pump cover on the timing cover and unbolt the waterpump. I read on my chilton's that you need a tool to hold the pump in place. Can i get away without one? just unbolting the pump and placing the new one in? Any suggestions or pointers would be appreciated.
