no oil in the car?!
Sunday, July 12, 2009 10:53 PM
05 cavalier with 60k miles. Have been changing my oil for the last year or so with Mobil 1 Synthetic.
Currently there is a little over 2,000/2months on my oil change and it is already on LOW every time i check the dipstick!!!!
Oil doesn't look too black but it's getting there.

What's causing it to get all black?
Where am I losing the oil and what/where can I check myself?

Just want to try and solve this before it becomes a bigger problem...

Check it every 3k miles. Oil loss is accepable. I forgot off the top of my head but 1quart every like 2k miles or something is acceptable. Are you blowing out any blue smoke?

I have heard that there was an oil seperator on the LD9 motors under the intake manifold that can get clogged up that can cause oil loss... Is there any truth to that? If so, if there one on the ecotecs?

Cavalier z24......A poor man's Camaro....close enough, right?
