INTAKE BACKFIRE!

my car has a REALLY bad miss and i've been doing a whole lot of troubleshooting with no luck. I changed the coils, idle air control, spark plugs, and seafoamed it with no changes at all (kinda worse after seafoam). It wont even start unless I have the throttle body wide open. I havent been able to work on it for about 5 days and went i went to crank it, I got a nasty backfire right out of the throttle body. WAT IS WRONG? ...any help is greatly appreciated

I would suggest have it diagnosed rather than throwing parts at it. That will get you no where.

You also need to be more descriptive. It looks like you over looked two things in the spark system. Control module and coil housing. The fact that you have to have the pedal to the floor to get it to start is a concern right off hand. Considering its EFI.

This was another post i put up sometime ago (it has some more info):
"I have a 99 Z24 2.4 and just recently, my car begin to stutter and hesitate slightly upon acceleration. Now it has gotten much worse. It idles roughly and hesitates almost every time I accelerate. The car will actually start up very quickly, but if i dont immediately give it gas it dies. After stopping (i.e. at a red light) when I put it in gear and give it a little gas it starts to stutter very badly and if i dont mash down on the gas it will die completely. After running for a few minutes, although the idle is quite rough, it wont die at idle. It only seems to want to sputter and cut off when i try to accelerate a little (then i have to really give it gas to keep it running). It also seems to have random drops or lags in power at cruising speeds.

I dont know why the aforementioned is happening, but i figured spark plugs would be a simple start. When i pulled out the outer spark plug on the passenger side, it had oil on the threads (Just that one spark plug had oil on it). I also noticed (before i even touched the spark plugs) that there was oil sitting on top of the block between the camshaft housings. And all the old spark plugs were a very dark matte black.

The car is a manual and has around 200,000 miles on it, but it has never given me problems like this before."

---It was after I posted this that i changed out the coils, idle air control, spark plugs, and seafoamed it. If there is anything else u would like me to be more descriptive about please let me know. And the control module and housing were two of my concerns as well, but the module is like 140 bucks and i didnt wanna buy one without knowing for sure thats the issue. I've been looking around the forum and searching else where to see if there is a way to test the module or housing, but I've found nothing. Thanks for your reply havoc and any further assistance is greatly appreciated.
