I'm pretty sure the bearings in my A/C are starting to pack it in. Its making a hell of a noise with the A/C on and when it's off its not as bad.
Is there a way to remove the A/C condensor and re-install without tearing half the motor apart? can it be removed from underneith or through the wheel well? I'm going to try and pickup a used one to put in. Just thought I would pick some peoples brains. I havent looked at it that closely on how to remove it but will be doing the job myself.

the condensor or compressor?
the condensor is what is in front of you radiator...its a fairly easy removal and install. just need someone to evacuate your system. if you mean compressor thats a different story
"It's called reading! Top to bottom, left to right... a group of words together is called a sentence. Take Tylenol for any headaches... Midol for any cramps."
The compressor can be removed from the bottom. Just evacuate te system and unbolt it. I cant remember if the alternator and tensionner have to come out too or not.
I need to replace the compressor. I tried to look for schematics online on gmpartsdirect.com but couldnt find any. Any help would be appriciated. B/c If I have to pull off the tensionner and alternator that means I got to pull the S/C off as well.
did mine at 90k with the wonderful assistance of a hydraulic lift
. but u can just jack the car up. go at it from the bottom. theres 2 bolts on the top side of the compressor facing the block and 2 bolts on the bottom should be facing up.
u must have the system evacuated before working on it. theres like 1 bolt that holds each line to the compressor. remove the lines, and the 4 other bolts and it drops rite out. easy. replace it with the newer one then have the system recharged when you're done. make sure your tensioner actually still moves though. mine didnt and i had to replace the @!#$ when i did my compressor. the only other thing i would really suggest is to try and get new orings for the lines. its better to just replace them so you dont have a leak later.
