ive got a 98 sunfire with a 2.4 engine. i finally got it running (bad ground going to the fuel pump) but now thats its running its seems ive run into another problem. im not sure if the timing is off or what but when i do any sort of city driving or just let the car run, it reads hott on the temp gauge and when you open the hood it gets extremly hott. i think it runs rich because it does have a gasy kind of smell to it when its drivin and the mileage seems poor. to me it seems like the engine is getting somewhat hott but the exhaust is getting extremly hott from something i think but im not sure what cause i can let it sit a whole night and its still kinda warm from the day befour if i drive that night. also my tanny seems to slip somewhat, i went to check the tranny fluid.... no dip stick can. if anyone can help my out. greatly appreciated.
