Manual Trans leaking 95 Z24 Help!

Hey guys... 95 Z24 w. Izuzu Trans
Just bought the car and noticed the shifter is not as smooth as it should be. I noticed that it seems to be leaking trans fluid out of the drivers side half shaft where it meets the trans. On other cars I have owned in the past there is a o-ring in where the axle mates up with the trans and it was a simple fix but on a Nissan I owned I had to have the trans pulled to make a seal replacement. Before I start taking this thing apart if the rain ever lets up does anyone know if this is going to be a simple fix or am I looking at pulling off the trans?
Also is this a trans I can add fluid to or is it sealed like other I have owned. I fear im really low on fluid now and may need to add a little to hold me over till I can fix for real.
Thanks

isuzu trans shifts like a rough turd anyways, i have an isuzu in my Z and a the getrag in my 'balt, and theres a HUGE difference.

pull the half shaft, replace the seal, replace the half shaft.

you need to pull other stuff off, like the wheel, strut, etc. to get the half shaft and cv out, but im sure you get the drift. the half shaft just "pops" out of the hole using a couple pry bars.

Ok so there is a replaceable o-ring at the seal to the trans? I had a few cars that did not. Also I read post after post on manual trans fluid, how to change etc but I think Im more confused as to what to fill with. I would like to go to a synthetic and not use the gm stuff recommended by dealer as its $14 bucks a quart.

it's not an o-ring, its an actual seal. and only use synchromesh, pennzoil makes it for gm, and they sell it in chain auto parts stores as well. usually $7/qt.

Contrary to what was said above.

To remove a driveshaft you remove the axle nut, you remove the lower ball joint bolt, and you pry down and get it loose to swing it out of the way.

You use a prybar to pop it out, a seal puller to replace the seal, lube the seal, reinstall in reverse order.

You dont remove the strut like someone else said, they must like working hard

There is a fill plug either on the side, or on top of the transmission, fill till fluid comes out of it.

have fun

uhh, no. there's a drain plug on the bottom of the trans, and a fill plug/dipstick on top. drain it, then drop a piece of clean 3/8 fuel line down to abour where the fil plug is (you'll see once everything is apart. clean the plug and surrounding area BEFORE removing the plug, as this is a flat horizontal spot, there will be quite a buildup of road grime and dirt. pull the plug after its clean, place the hose in the hole, and use the pointy fill caps that come with the synchromesh (i cant stress enough that this is the only oil to use in this transmission) in the end of hose you left up top. use two full quarts, and your tranny will be full to the proper level.
