This has been happening for a while now. When I rev to the redline on first, its feels like not all the power is getting to the ground. But as soon as I get into second, it's like the power's back on because there's torque steer and the whole car jerks forward cause it's connecting again. Don't know if my first gear is slipping, although I've read that some people rev all the way up to redline without moving or connecting at all. Maybe my case is mild compared to what happens to them? Is that possible? I used to abuse my clutch when I first got my car cause my foot would be really deep on the clutch pedal, and I used to let go instantly at high revs. This made the clutch slam into gear and the whole car shook. I'm thinking I'm paying for that mistake now.

umm manual gears dont "slip" and if they do...then you should probably never abuse/drive a car again.
sounds to me your tires are spinning.

unless your clutch is slipping, in which case, it would do it more often and noticeable in 5th than 1st
