A high pitched hummm is coming from the front end of my car. Im not sure if RPM affects it as it is faint, and the sound of the rev would just cover it up if it was there. I can hear it in any gear (standard tranny) and even when idling without the clutch engaged. Car can be in motion or stopped. Its a high pitches hum at seemingly timed intervals, some louder than the others
Ive been told to get a "mechanics stethoscope" and listen to pullys/tensioner along my serpentine belt.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks guys.
How many miles on youre motor? Timing chain & tensioner ever been serviced? How about youre Alternator has it been replaced, Could be bearing is wornout, The grease gone, Also I would take a look @ the serpentine belt tensioner.
Good Luck.
Its the weirdest thing cause its loud as all hell inside the car. But i cant hear a thing when the hood is popped.
Thanks for the advice
