first i would like to say that i searched and nothing worked....so here is the post
ok so its something that has been bothering me well since i bought the car...the odometer doesnt light up...
i tried the hitting the top of the dash trick as well as swapping clusters...5 times....
so i have somewhat narrowed it down to being a wiring problem....would i be on the right track or am i missing something??
i tried to trace wires to see if something is not connected but from the previous gauges in the car the wires are a cluster@!#$ of a mess..
so my question would be will it end up being easier to just get a new harness and swap it onto the dash?
or pull the whole dash out and try to find it and fix it...
thanks for any help u guys might be able to give me...

If the rest of the cluster lights up and has power, but the odometer doesn't... you don't have a wiring problem. At least, not external to the cluster...
even if there were guages in the pilar prior?
the old owner had an EGT, boost, and narrow band a/f in there and i took them out so im seeing if that might be my issue? could power have been tapped from the odo light power source and with the guages out cause this issue?
or would that prob be y my obd2 port doesnt work either?>
