as subject said. For what seems like no reason after hittin a pothole last night my gauge and hvac lights fuse popped so naturally i replaced it and it lasted about 5 mins and the lights went real dim and then popped again. its annoying as hell to drive at night and need it fixed before i have to make the 45 min trip to my gfs house again. My only 2 thoughts were 1. is the dimmer switch f'ed up (although it turns the dome light on with no probs) or 2. if i remember right my remote start is hooked into the dash lights. I hope someone can give me a answer and its a cheap fix!!!
If the remote start is hooked up to the dimmer wire then yes, that can mess up the switch. The dome light its a separate wire from the dash lights.
Update. SO i tried for hours to fix this problem with no resolve. I pulled all the fuses from the remote start and the problem persists so i know its not caused by that. I thought that maybe the blinker/headlight switch might have failed again but i bought a new and put it in and it still did it so thats not the problem. Im so lost as to the problem and its driving me nuts. I have to assume its a short somewhere. If i put a new fuse in and go drive it lasts about 5 or 10 mins and then it blows again. All the wires look fine from what i can see. The only thing that i noticed at all was that one of the plugs that goes into the stalk had some browning to it like it has gotten hot at one point but i have had to replace that damn thing 3 times now in the past few years.
