so i had to remove my airbag on my steering wheel. now i cant get my horn to work. theres a red wire with a spring on the end of it. not sure where that goes or what to do with it. is it just suppose to hang there? i hooked up the plug for the airbag. dont really think that plug runs the horn. im kinda lost here. i looked in my haynes manual but it doesnt really say much at all. i also never screwed in the airbag cause i tried the horn first and it didnt work so i didnt screw it in. maybe screwing it in will ground it?
any help would be appreciated
thanks,
nick
Did you unhook the red wire to begin with, there shouldnt be any loose wires, something is unplugged it sounds like.
Screwing the horn in doesnt ground, pressing the horn closes the contacts behind the horn, to apply 12V to the horn relay which then is applied to the horn, the horn circuit is always grounded, just not always powered

i didnt unhook anything except the plug for the airbag. its wierd cause the red wire doesnt look like it plugs into anything. it just has a spring on the end of it. i dont see any wires around the steering colum either.
im lost here
post a pic of the red wire

Does it have a plastic tube above the spring?i know on the older Chevys, they had that where you plugged it into a hole and twist to lock it in.
