hi everyone im going on a long road trip next week for 2 weeks. im just wondering if anyone can tell me what kind of common problem there are for a 2003 cavalier with a manual trans?? it has 86,000km on it. i know the fuel pump failure is a common problem on a 2003. my pump die last month but thats fixed now ??? anything else i should pay attention to or replace b4 i leave on my trip ?
eg. any problems with shift cables or shifter mechanisms? or timing chain guides???
my steering clunks but its always been like that i think its in the rack or steering column i know its not the upper strut
mounts or upper spring seat its been replaced when i lowered my car
speaking of upper spring seats they are made out of some sort of composite plastic, all the weight of the vehicle is supported by these plastic upper strut spring seats ?? i always wonder if they ever break?
thanks
The items you mention and seem worried about rarely cause you to break down on the highway.
Check your belts, hoses, coolant, PS fluid, washer fluid, wiper blades, brake pads, brake fluid, tires, tire pressure, SPARE tire pressure, jack in car?, All the lights work? and finally is the radio OK? IF you've got good tunes what problems can there really be?
