I am working on a friends 04 base model. It starts runs for 5 seconds and dies. I tried the passlock relearn and didn't change anything. Good fuel pressure-brand new fuel pump and filter. Anyone have any ideas? No check engine light or codes stored. Also if you give it throttle within those 5 seconds it dies as well. All sensors are plugged in.

Sure sounds like a Passlock problem to me.

Any codes stored in the BCM?

The fact that incresing RPMs, wont allow the run still, and the fact that you do have spark, it runs for five seconds, gives the impression it isnt either of those two systems

Got it fixed. Ended up being a half tank of the worst gasoline I've ever seen.

Might as well change the fuel filter, its plugged up now
