I currently am having a problem with my front defroster in a 04 sunfire it only blows out the front vents. the hvac selector is kind of funky to i would like to fix this problem myself any help would be greatly appreciated

Had the same problem. There is a cable that controls the vents that runs from the back of the selector knob up into the dash. Over time from bending back and forth so much is breaks down and stops functioning. If you get down into the passenger side floor you can usually see it or at least feel it behind the hvac. They sell it at NAPA for about 15 bucks but you have to take the dash apart to replace it.

There are 2 hoses that send air to the defrost vents. They slip onto plastic tubes molded into the bottom cover. Make sure these haven't slipped off.
