oh yeah, i need help

i just remebered, i have a 98 cavi, brand new starter (less than a month ago) oil change, same time, and something else i forgot, but i got that stuff done, my cavi was starting funny........i would have to have the gas pushed down to start it, then it would throw bunch of exhaust out the tailpipe, but ran perfectly fine(seafoamed it and it didnt help), but this is the problem i have i sometimes think there is no spark, what happens is it does this, trying to start

attempt 1: turn over click click click click

attempt 2. click ____________(then nothing)

attempt 3: nothing

so i have to go under the hood, mess with a few wires, ive narrowed it down, the wires under the battery the little purple wire......but after i play with the wires, itll start perfectly fine, sometimes i have to hold the gas down for a little, but itll run fine (except for the fact the gas goes someplace idk where, its getting about 22 low end, itt seems my 97 blazer has better gas milage at the moment)

so any ideas?

well, this really should have gone into the maintenance forum. you would have gotten more response. but its ok.

honestly, i would have a look at the wiring. is it corroded on the ends that are open to the elements? the wire that runs from the battery to the fuse box in the engine bay, how does that look?

definitely check you're grounds and make sure they are clean and tight.

Pull the vacuum line off of the fuel pressure regulator. If there is fuel present, replace the regulator.

sounds like battery issue actually.

check as many power connections as possible and charge the battery

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
