I am planning on installing an oil pressure gauge in to my 99 z24. in the haynes book, it says to install in on the drivers side of the motor, there is a 'galley plug' that i need to remove, and screw in the adapter for my manual oil pressure gauge, the problem i am having is the plug is round and inset in the head. how to i remove that plug? there is no hex, or bolt, its just round and flush with the head. if you have any ideas that would be appreciated.

I removed my oil sending unit with vice grips, no harm done.

this. IT might be an easier way for you to install your gauge
I also removed my oil pressure sending unit, no trouble codes or lights on. This was on a 96 2.2 and i believe it was right around the oil filter area towards the mid of the engine. Fun one to get at, i got it from under the car.
I don't know what plug your looking at but you dont install a oil pressure bulb in a head. It should be on the block some place.
Yeah you are looking at the wrong bolt. Look at the bolts right next to where your head says the Liter amount. To the right of that there should be like 3 bolts that have allen wrench holes that you can put in there. It is hard to release so what I did is take a regular allen wrench and take a socket wrench with a circle end place it on top. Lock it in place with the allen wrench and push it front to release it. It should come out after that.

you want to remove the sending unit and use a brass 3/8" T fitting here is the location on the 2.4. this is the best pic i have at the moment. on the intake cam.
