I have a 1997 sunfire with a 2.4L the ac compressor has gone bad, and i just want to run a belt to bypass it without having to buy the extra pully and i dont plan to remove the compressor. I have looked everywhere and cannot find the specific belt size, if someone can help me out. Thanks.

You didn't look to hard since I have posted it about 1,000,000 times.....Last time I helped a buddy he used a longer belt Belt, but he had a brand new tensioner.

SEARCH SOME.

"No bypass Pulley".... belt size should be 345K5, but it doesn't fit use a 350K5 belt. All belt manufacturers are different. You might need a longer size belt.

Also...
GM bypass pulley 2.4L p/n # 24574519
Just because...GM bypass pulley 2.3L p/n # 22533199
Hope that helps. Also removing all your ac junk I mean lines, pump, condensers and all...... only weight in at 33 pounds. FYI.
I have run my 2.4 with the bypass pulley and just a belt. I have had better luck with the bypass pulley, and stock belt.

unless the front clutch assembly is bad on the compressor , just leave the belt as is since its not gonna hurt anything
