Windshield Washer Reservoir

2003 Pontiac Sunfire

I apparently have a hole in mine somewhere, don't know where and need to replace this thing, which seems to be buried behind the driver side wheel and up in the actual fender. Excellent design by the way, way to go GM! At any rate, anyone know of a shortcut or easier way than what I am thinking to get this thing swapped out. Any/all help is appreciated!

Thanks yall!!!

I just went through this myself on my Z24. Havn't had washer fluid for about a year... got fed up of stopping by gas stations to use the crappy squeegee.

Anyway, I ended up taking off my front bumper. Ive done it about a 1000 times, so it was easy.. But when I was done, I wish I woulda approached it differently.

My problem ended up being a broken fluid motor. The tip broke off & the seal was lousy... The pump was accessible without removing the bumper. I would just pull the driverside fender liner outta the way and check that first.. I'm not sure if the sunfire is different, but you should be able to remove 3-4 bolts from the BOTTOM of the fender liner (facing the ground) where it attaches to the bumper and just pull it down to take a peek.

The bottle itself is pretty tough & thick, so its unlikely for there to be a hole unless its cracked from freezing or an accident etc... I removed mine for no reason..

Check the pump first. More than likely, you leak is going to be related to the rubber grommet in which is rests..

I ended up stealing a pump from an abandoned Chevy p/u near my shop, it was the same.

John,

Remove the drivers side wheel and plastic splash shield from the inside of the wheel well. After that, there are only a few bolts to remove and the reservoir should come right out.
