I'm new here to the forums and my buddy has a 98 Caviler which has just started leaking coolent from around one of the head bolts. never really done anything on a four cylinder car and a little out of my element so any help would be appreciated.
we need more infor ie which motor there was a few.
Sean this wouldn't happen to be the OHV 2200 with a coolant leak at the corner of the head would it? If you answer yes then those motors aren't too bad to do a headgasket on. It's still a pushrod engine so it really doesn't matter if it's a four cylinder, and I'd rather do a FWD cav than the same motor in a S-10.
srry it took so long to get back but ive been trying to deal with my car at the same time. turns out its a 96 caviler withe a 2.2L i can see coolant coming from the 2nd bolt from the right on the drivers side. he got the haynes manual on the car and i was looking through it and it looks like a pretty long job. do yall know any faster ways to do the head gasket, or any tricks? thanks for the replies.

you can either do it fast, or you can do it right. it's that black and white.
