MT or AT? any CEL?
TCC solenoid maybe? isnt stalling out when put in gear a symptom of that?

lol.. all just a shot in the dark.. with more info, you will likely get some informed guesses as to the cause but it could be many things on these damn cars... you'd really have to start testing everything to find out for certain what it is..

Sounds to me that TCC solenoid is the issue. See if you could look for electrical wire harness thats on the transmission, Unplug it see if that temp fixes it.

GoodLuck.

hmm.... 4 speed auto? think its more of a pain in the ass then simply unplugging the solenoid, its part of the main harness on the 4 speed (on my 99 at least) which i assume you have.. the 3spd only has D 1 2 right?
if so, you'd have to actually cut the wire to disconnect it..

yea it does but i fill th trans shift to overdrive thats whats drvies me crazy i feel four shifts rather than 3 shifts but i under th impression that to unplug it i have to take the pan off is that true cause thats the way it looks?

i believe so... but dont quote me on that...

Also you could try driving around in "3"... i've heard thats a work-around but never tried it as it wasnt my problem afterall..
