My car just up and died just after getting an oil change. It turns over and will fire but it wont run. Its a 2003 Z24 and has always ran great
I could really use some help finding out what went . I'm thinking its the fuel pump, its is throwing no codes. I did get it to spudder alittle by working the gas piddle.
Thanks

little bit more info please. how many miles on the car? could very well be the fuel pump. try beating on the gas tank with your fist and then try starting it. was it doing any kind of weird rpm jumps before it decided to not start?

The car only has 132000km and has ran great with no problems, always starting even at -38'c. The only other thing that I can think of is could of they knocked something loose when they did the oil change??

doubtful. it's pretty hard to @!#$ up an oil change on one of our cars.

like i said, try beating on the gas tank with your fist a couple times, then try to start it.

Fuel pump or a clogged fuel line. It almost sounds like youre out of gas.

I would say Fuel Pump, mine had the same exact symptoms.

If it makes you feel better, in 40+ years of working on cars, since they put the pump IN the gas tank, I've NEVER had one fail with an empty tank!!!! It is just one of those things.

Try a new relay before you replace the pump. Its about 15 bucks and is prob the orig on the car. That fixed my problem. I ran into a bad ECM fuse as well. The visual of the fuse was good but a meter test proved it bad. So I got a fuse pack for 3 bucks and had mine back on the road.

Try to check fuse, relay and get someone uder the car to listen pump' s priming noise, when you turn ignition key. If there is no noise, fuel lines maybe under pressure and pump is not priming gas, in this case try to disconnect fuel filter and then look for pump throving gas out of the line (be carefull in this operation). If fuse, realy are ok. disconnect the wires from the gas tank and check contact with voltmeter. Be sure to check how they connect, I had bad contact in there, so my car even stalled on the roadside because of that. If everything seems ok. Then it is fuel pump fault. Read Haynes manual how to get gas tank off and fuel pump out.
