bolts to mount ld9 on stand
Saturday, March 06, 2010 7:25 AM
Any recommendations as to what bolts to get and where I can get them to mount the ld9 to a stand? The stock bellhousing mounting bolts are much too short to fit through the mounting arms to the block. Should the same grade be used or will it really matter when it is only on the stand for a few days?

Thanks

Just get some bolts from Oreillys ,just make them grade 8 bolts.
Same thread of course.

i used grade 9 i beleive, but 8 will be fine... i ended up needing to get two longer than the first two i got and used one with a nut as i ran it through the back of the motor where the waterpump housing heater core pipe's tab runs to on the motor (when the motor is installed this hole is filled with the bellhousing stud off the transmssion and has the spacer inbetween the motor and trans.)

i also used crush washers for the longer bolts to compensate for any over length.

plenty of pics in my progress thread in the Photos and Media forum
