where what does it look like? got a pic?
thanks!
im getting bogging too . soo
i do you have any cel on?
no cel. so the map hose is a really small hose? where can someone take a pic for me? its not the whole air filter hose u guys are talking about is it?
i'm having the same problem, i cleaned the intake manifold throttle body and pcv, and i put new coils, housing, boots, plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump,02 sensors and mine does it to i got a 2.4 and mine does it when the car is warm and i put the pedal to the floor
someone have a map hose pic/ ? i cant find the hose!!!!

map sensor hose issues throw codes usually... the IAC not so much
can some one give this guy a pic.....cause am kinda... having the same prob too.....except my car still would live. if my car sits after like a hour or 3 ill start it up, and if i dont take off immediately it would drop to like 8 to 7 hundred rpms then surge up to the 1500 as if i gave it gas, then it will go back to regular rpms. Now if i just start up and flat out take of the car would sputter as if it was going to stall out. Now unless i hit the clutch and give it gas, like maybe 3 or 4 throttle blips it would save its self. So anytime between if i start the car like between 30 after shut off it shoot on and no sputter no nothing it would run like a champ, and no theres on cels on in mine either
blah... if this is really a problem, maybe you shouldnt be working on your own car... lol.. just putting that out there...
but..
it looks something like that... its on the right hand side of the throttle body.... it just hangs there off a bracket... one electrical connection, one vac line... or follow the vac line from the intake manifold...
and you probably wont get a code from it unless the sensor malfunctions electrically... it measures intake vacuum which can vary from nothing to whatever... even if its crushed.. or leaking... or missing completely.... the sensor will still read in range and not throw a DTC... it'll just severely screw up your fuel trims and timing... had it happen a few months ago
and by the way... it seems very likely to me it may be your problem... same symptoms.. and same year and model to boot.. lol
The line fails when it gets warm and crushes itself... when you rev your car up, you have no vacuum... you let off the gas, vacuum builds and crushes the warm vac line... sensors still sees no vacuum so it starts adjusting.... it'll likely look fine when the car is off.. but the hose is like 4" and costs about 2 bucks...
i am also going to try this, i am having much the same problem.
maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow....... but some day
small map hose was cracked . Wires around it were pushing it when i move them temporarily till i got the hose it corrected the problem.
good to hear...
It can be tough to spot.. at least for me it was... the hose looked fine when it was cool... so when i was poking around with the car off (or even when running, winter kept the temps down enough) i didnt notice it...
