Hi ppl,
I own a 92 Cavy coupe... and had a problem with the passenger seat belt: It can't be pulled out (feels stuck) while the door is closed... so, I had to pull the belt loooong way out and hook it before closing the door.
Today I was trying to install speakers to the door. Pulled out the plastic cover of the passenger door and found 2 cables attached to the seat belt thing (where the belt is rolled)... A friend of mine came to help me and noticed that when closing the driver door, a sort of electric spark sound comes from the passenger door. Well, after disconnecting and reconnecting the cables, nothing happened. And finally figured out that if the driver door is opened the passenger seat belt can be pulled out even if the door of this side is closed.
Could someone explain me what GM designers were thinking when designing this system? this is the way how the seat belts works or something is going wrong? for what are those electrical cables?
thanks for your feedback
