Incredibly huge oil leak, where do I look?

Does anyone here have experience with a sudden large oil leak on the 2.3L engine in a 95 Cavalier? I was driving down the road and my oil light came on so I headed to the gas station where it took 3 quarts of oil to bring the level to the proper mark on the dipstick. Then I drove 6 blocks to home and when I got home the oil light was on again meaning the car leaked out 3 quarts of oil in 6 blocks driving. There is nothing significantly wet with oil on top of the engine so it must be coming out the side or the bottom. Is there anything on a 2.3L engine that could conceivably blow like an oil pressure switch or block or cylinder head plug that could could such a sudden and massive leak? I'll have to jack it up tomorrow and look but I am open to suggestions regarding this big oil leak.

Had your oil filter changed lately? Might be loose.

Thanks, that'll be the first place I check.

Well, oil filter turned out to be good but the oil pressure switch was pumping oil out like a garden hose. Ordered a new switch for $17. at the local GM dealer and it should be in tomorrow morning then I'll install it and I'll be on the road again. I'm glad it turned out to be something simple because I was thinking cracked head/block or blown rear main seal.
