I just got my car back from having the master and slave for the clutch replaced . And now aweek later their is smoke coming from the dashboard wtf(but not from the engine that i can tell). this car has been a total lemon since i bought it new its got 70 000 miles on it. What would cause that i thougth maybe it was the heater core i put stop leak in it. i would of made a bypass line but the stupid hose clamps are in a bad spot. The smoke comes from above the gauges and smells horrid. Smells like burnt plastic maybe but not sure. This car makes me deeply depressed. Its a 2005 5speed. Thanks for any help

If it smells like burnt plastic I don't think it will be the heater core . I would get it looked at , maybe by the ones that did master and slave for the clutch .

It would be a good idea to carry a fire extinguisher in the car with you til it is fixed just in case.

Ok first thing I would do is take the dash off and look around for obvious culprits. Turn the car on and see if smoke is coming from anywhere specific, then narrow down the problem.

If it smells like burnt plastic, you've got some electrical issues that could get a whole lot worse if it doesn't get fixed soon.
