i just recently blew a head gasget in my 88 sunbird gt and come to find out the head was crack in every cylinder so i bought the whole new head and gaskets kit and got everything done and when putting it back together matched all the timming marks up right and the car wont start it just back fires and sound like it 180 degrees out of time i need help please??
Did u make sure that #1 cyl is dead top center?
If its 180 out, remove timing belt, rotate 1/2 turn, set #1 tdc, make sure marks are aligned, reinstall

I just changed the head on my 89 GT a couple months ago,did you prime your lifters before you installed them because it is very important.
First remove the belt and #1 plug then make sure it is on the compression stroke buy putting your finger over the plug hole.
Align the crankshaft pulley mark with the 8* degree mark on the scale of 16-0 degree then align the camshaft straight up with the groove in the timing back plate.
