i replaced my water pump with a rebuilt water pump and when it reaches operational temp there is a ticking or knocking noise. This only occur after the thermostat open and never when the engine is cold. Is this water pump bad or could it be another issue such as the timing chain tensioner?
Sounds like the timing chain.. i really don't see how the water pump is going to cause a tick,unless the chain is in a bind or something.
