so i redid my ground for my battery cuz i thought maybe thats why my cluster was acting up. but i was wrong. my cluster will randomly stop workin all of my needles will drop to where they would be when cars off and ALL the lights on the cluster come on. if i hit the brakes the abs will go off and my speedo will work(for how long is a diffrent story) and after awhile most of the lights will go away except for theft system and service. is my cluster bad? or something else? its a 2001 2200 auto
also im getting DTC P0171 Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 1 as a code what should i do to fix it?

Sounds like the gauge cluster is losing power and resetting... either a bad electrical feed to it, or your ignition switch (or wiring) is fooked. Hard to say which, you'll have to test and see what the voltage to the cluster is doing. If you're getting volts on the lamp test when the key's not turned to start... then you have a bad ignition switch. How worn is your key? Just out of curiousity. Since you said the Theft light is on...
P0171 is a lean code. Could be a bad injector.. could also be a clogged fuel filter or a dying fuel pump. I've seen all three cause it... other things could cause it too. But it's not directly related to the other problem you're having...

well i noticed the cluster acting up after i installed my new radio about 3 or 4 days after. my key is not worn really its one the 2 originals and i just started useing it. where would the wires be that i would wanna test it with. and i also noticed that (after market) remote start and keyless no longer work now. im guessin cuz of the cluster?
imm thinkin itll be an injector then cuz it happend after i blew my old motor and had a used one put in but it only has 34k on it, but ill drag it up to the shop cuz its still under warranty, i thought it might of been the 02 sensor cuz of all the oil that was in the header after i blew a rod.

ive used a diffrent key and the cluster still does that. and now sometimes when i go to start it sometimes it will do that thing like theft system is on where it starts but then immeditally dies after. i havent been able to get it to start since then. anyone got any ideas?

ok new update unplugged the battery to reset the ecu and it started fine. but now the cluster dosent work but i lights up and turn signals work. air bag light comes on(has since remote start) but bright light on cluster wont turn on if i switch to um and no gauges come on. but now my driver side door(only one with keyless) locks at start and unlocks and off which it ddnt before. anyone have any ideas? im lost and i dnt wanna pay up the ass for electrical problems...
